In accordance with the Regulations and more particularly in compliance with the restrictions conveyed in the concluding paragraph of Earl Grey's Despatch No. 19 of 17th February 1848 I have the honor to transmit herewith
1. My account for the year ended 31st March 1849 exhibiting a Balance in my hands on the close of that day amounting to £6,089.10.4½. which has been duly verified by the Board appointed by His Excellency for that purpose, as per enclosed Certificate.
This said Balance, it must be observed, is not merely a result of my own accounts, but has been subject to the scrutiny of the aforementioned Board.
